August went by very quickly, but perhaps that’s because we Booty Shakers spent most of our time at awesome shows, dancing the nights away. We started a segment last month where we highlighted 3 not-to-miss shows in Brooklyn for that particular month. The article seemed to be well received, so we are back now with our September edition of: 3 shows not to miss in Brooklyn!
3. Pleasurekraft, Matrixxman, Jaceo. Just the mention of these names brings to mind past generations of extremely talented, techno-loving DJs. And that is exactly what one can expect from this special night, taking place Thursday, September 10th at Verboten in Williamsburg. This is a Kraftek Showcase, and will undoubtedly feature enough analog gear to impress Deadmau5. For only $20, it is worth checking out. Tickers are available here!
2. Zero Presents… HK3 (Rooftop Gathering) Day 2 at Secret Outdoor Location
Magic on a rooftop…
Pyramids, carpets, sunsets, beautiful music and you…
This event is really promising to be something special. Taking place on a secret Brooklyn rooftop, and featuring the music of Miro, Bedouin, Satori, and Eduardo Castillo. Expect deep, luscious, sexy beats, unbeatable vibes, and a peace-loving crowd that reminds attendants just why Brooklyn is one of the best electronic music cities in the world.
1. Brooklyn Comes Alive is a new concept inspired by the vibrant music scenes of New Orleans and Brooklyn and the people who make these places so special. They are putting the focus on the artists, with a long list of amazing musicians spanning a variety of genres performing across several Williamsburg, Brooklyn venues all day long.
Brooklyn Comes Alive will welcome members of Lettuce, Soulive, Trey Anastasio Band, The Disco Biscuits, Living Colour, Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, Lotus, Snarky Puppy, Ween, RAQ, Kung Fu, Medeski Martin & Wood, Soule Monde and many more to take over Brooklyn for the day. Running from about noon-4 AM, for the price of an average show, one pass grants you access to an entire day and night’s worth of music (over 10+ shows in total).
Artists will be performing throughout the day in unique, once-in-a-lifetime formations. We’re encouraging collaborations and a spirit of community, so expect superjams, sit-ins, and special guests all day and all night. For example, Verboten will be running music for nearly 24 hours straight, starting with a jazz brunch early in the day, and ending as the sun rises after a late night dance party. The Music Hall of Williamsburg will open up in the early evening, hosting several headlining jam sessions as well. A staggered schedule allows you to jump from venue to venue with ease, experiencing all that Brooklyn Comes Alive has to offer. Tix are still available here, get them before they sell out!
