Electric Daisy Carnival Mexico is taking place this coming weekend, Saturday, February 28th, and Sunday, March 1st. I have been to EDC both in New York and in Las Vegas, and it is always a good time. While there are definitely other festivals, and other lineups, more suited to my tastes, the 2015 edition of EDC Mexico is still filled with some stars. For those lucky enough to attend, make sure to catch at least one of these five following acts, and catch all five if you can. Then, report back to us. 😉 Check em’ out below, Top 5 Artists To See At EDC Mexico 2015!
5. Moon Boots
“Moon Boots entered the world in the mid-1980s via Cape Canaveral. After years of service as the preferred footwear of celebrity astronauts (notably Tom Hanks), Moon Boots came to life during a classified experiment aboard the International Space Station. Little is known of what actually transpired aboard the shuttle, but in short, Moon Boots became a sentient creature, equipped with reason, intuition, and groove.” So goes the autobiography of Moon Boots. However he came into existence doesn’t matter to us, we are just glad that he did. This guy throws down funk and nu disco inspired house sets all over the world, and is guaranteed to take you on a trip. Highly recommended!
4. Annie Mac
Annie Mac is known as The Queen of Dance Music, and for good reason. She has been mixing a live radio show Friday night’s for years and years, with over a million listeners tuning in each week! She has been spreading the gospel that is house music for over 10 years now, and her skill behind the decks is nothing to be trifled with. Best believe Annie Mac can, and will, throw down a fire set full of class house-goodness, so make sure you’re there. Watch Annie spin in the video below, where she takes over The Mixmag Lab in London town.
Some may know Marc Kinchen as an icon of the dance world, some may know him only by his initials, “MK”, and then there are others who only know his music. Regardless, Marc has been producing for years now, and only recently stepped out of the studio to start touring as a DJ. He has not disappointed, and the last year has seen him play everywhere from Russia to Norway to Boston. And now, he will be touching down for EDC Mexico 2015. Below is the track that first got MK signed, released way back in 1992. Still as solid as the day it was released.
Dubfire!! You had to know that if Dubfire is on a lineup, he’s gonna be on one of the must-see acts. EDC Mexico 2015 is no exception. The Iranian-born DJ/producer is going to bring his signature blend of minimal techno to the beautiful people of EDC Mexico, something that he has brought with him all over the world. A Dubfire set is seriously something special, and combines some of the most hypnotic, experimental techno that exists, all in the name of taking the listener on a journey. Below is a typical Dubfire track, with scary vocals and deep basslines. Prepare your mind!
1. Claude VonStroke
Was it any question who we were going to put at #1? It is, and forever will be, the one and only Claude VonStroke. Hailing from San Francisco via Detroit, Barclay Crenshaw, aka Claude VonStroke, is the founder of booty house label Dirtybird Records, one of the biggest inspirations for this blog! I’ve seen Claude a handful of times, and he always puts on a great show. It’s all about good times and good music when Barclay is on the decks, and his set at EDC Mexico is going to be no different. Captain Claude, take it away!
