We Are FSTVL 2015 Preview

Holy shit, is this lineup massive! Allow me to introduce you to an awesome summer festival, cleverly titled We Are FSTVL. Taking place May 30th +31st, in Essex, England, this is surely going to be one of the best electronic music events of the summer. The lineup was released in three separate phases, with phase three being released just two days ago. View this INSANE lineup below.

Let’s start with Saturday. There are five stages, each with a unique yet amazing lineup. The mainstage is led by legend Carl Cox, and features, among others, Seth Troxler, Solomun, and Hot Since 82. That is an amazing main stage lineup. Oh, but there are still four more stages! A 2nd stage, dubbed the “Techno Warehouse,” is being hosted by German DJ Loco Dice, and also features, amongst others, Art Department and Adam Beyer. The three other stages are also on point, with some of my personal highlights including Shiba San, Tube & Berger, Hannah Wants (hosting her own stage,) and Mark Knight (also hosting his own, Toolroom Records stage.)

Excited yet? Here are some jams to get you ready for this amazing Saturday.

Green Velvet- Bigger Than Price (Hot Since 82 Remix)

Adam Beyer- Teach Me (Original Mix)

This is a really cool video of the master Carl Cox doing what he does best, DJing!

Now let’s shift our focus to Sunday. Also boasting five stages, the Sunday lineup is as stacked as the previous day’s. Interestingly enough, the Sunday main stage lineup was saved entirely for the stage three release.

I had high hopes for the Sunday main stage, and I must say I am slightly disappointed, but it does not affect my overall opinion of this lineup and I will explain why. The main stage is headlined by electro-house producer/DJ Steve Angello and heavy hitting duo Knife Party, with “special guest” Steve Aoki. Now, if you know anything about us at Booty Shakers, you can imagine our opinion of Steve Aoki. I do not overly dislike Knife Party, and I can say I’m neutral about Steve Angello, at best, but I am disappointed because I was really expecting a Richie Hawtin, or Luciano level headliner. But, the Sunday main stage also features The Martinez Brothers, and Amine Edge & Dance. These are two producer/DJ duos who wade in the “deep” waters of dance music, and will undoubtedly throw down awesome sets. I am not overly disappointed because although I do not love the headliners, the overall lineup is just so deep, with so many incredibly talent artists, it is almost impossible to be too upset.

The Techno Warehouse on Day 2 is being hosted by none other than “Papa” Sven Vath, and his Cocoon label. This is, in my opinion, easily the best stage of the weekend. It’s so good, I felt compelled to post the entire lineup.

Are you kidding me?? That’s only one stage! The Cocoon family never disappoints, and their We Are FSTVL performance promises to be no different. The other three stages boast a slew of top quality acts, including Jamie Jones (hosting his own Paradise Records stage,) and MK (hosting his own MK Area 10 stage.) Some of my personal highlights include the Dirtybird top dog Claude VonStroke (one of the Booty Shakers undisputed favorite producers,) Richy Ahmed, a special Huxley B2B J. Phlip set and Italian house master Marco Carola.

Are you not (prepared to be) entertained??? Here are some tracks to get you ready for Sunday of this unreal event.

Claude VonStroke- Dood

Jamie Jones- Tranquilizer

Finally, here is an amaaaazing set featuring Dixob B2B Äme. These three guys will be laying down a set on the Cocoon stage, and are NOT to be missed.

At this point I have definitely convinced you to attend the 2015 edition of We Are FSTVL. Unbelievably, two-day passes are only $150 US, and single day passes are only $75 US. This is a steal, and should be a no brainer for any house/techno fans that find themselves near England in late May. Any and all additional info can be found at http://www.wearefstvl.com/

Get your dancing shoes on, because this is going to be one unforgettable, inimitable, dance music affair!
