For those who are not familiar with the company Boiler Room, they host music events all over the world, always broadcasting live online, and always showcasing underground musical talent. Boiler Room sets are famous for their intimacy, with the artist nearly always standing side by side with the crowd. This creates a special environment, and is one of the many reasons why Boiler Room sets are so popular.
This particular set features Moon Boots, an exciting producer out of the USA. Moon Boots is a prominent artist on the popular French Express label, and this set was part of a French Express Boiler Room Takeover.
It is difficult to find personal information on Moon Boots, as his online bio says he “came to life during a classified experiment aboard the International Space Station.” Thankfully personal information is not what I am concerned with. I am focused on the music, and the music in this 48 minute set is absolutely on point. The tracks can be best described as a fusion of deep house, funk, and disco, with elements of hip hop mixed in as well. The set is is relentless, with groovy track after track seamlessly blending into one another. Moon Boots has been on my radar for a long time, and this Boiler Room set is a perfect example of him showing off his versatile DJ skills.
Some highlights include Chvrches – The Mother We Share (Moon Boots Remix), Andre 3000 – Prototype (Nick Monaco’s Classic House mix), and the unreleased Justin Jay track, Escape Velocity. Turn the volume up, and enjoy this Dope Shit!
